Firestopping

• Firestopping systems for expansion joints and through penetrations will effectively contain fire, smoke, toxic fumes and water for a one, two, three or four hour period depending on the design specifications.
• Pecora/UL approved joint designs are comprised of a sealant (smoke seal) as well as a firesafing material (heat and flame protection) such as mineral wool. Refer to Pecora Technical Bulletin #85J Pecora Expansion Joint Firestop Systems.
• In joint designs not completely meeting the pre-approved UL designs listed, a Firestopping Engineering Judgment Application Form may be submitted to attain a Pecora approved project specific firestop system.
• Pecora offers sealants of differing chemistries for firestopping applications:

Acrylic
Urethane
Silicone
